Ministry of Justice

As an expert painting contractor, we have worked for leading principal contractors to the Ministry of Justice as well as detention providers throughout the UK. This involves providing a high standard of decoration to our clients, covering a variety of applications ranging from standard wall emulsion to specialist epoxy coverings and plant room floors.

Intertech Contracts is proud to regularly work for organisations within the custodial sector, delivering the highest standard of professional contractor services:

Outstanding joinery

Professional joinery services enable you to transform and expand your facility by making each room and internal space work to its full potential. Our talented joiners can design and build a wide range of structures, from doorways and staircases to bedding, furnishings, storage units and anything else made from wood. Whilst delivering the very best joinery services available, we also make sure to stick to the agreed budget and complete the project within a set timeframe.

Dry lining services

When it comes to improving walls that have succumbed to wear and tear or installing new ones, it’s easy to assume that they need to be plastered. However, this traditional method is a slow, messy and disruptive process, especially when you take into account that the wet plaster needs to be left for many days in order to thoroughly set. That’s why we offer a dry lining service that’s much faster and neater, dramatically reducing the timeframe involved and bringing cost savings as an added bonus.

Dry lining can be applied to any internal walls and ceilings. The process involves measuring the space in order to cut and shape multiple plasterboards, which are then fitted to the walls (and ceiling if desired). The result is perfectly smooth surfaces free from dips or bumps without the need for wet plaster. Our dry lining experts also check that the plasterboard ticks all the boxes when it comes to fire, acoustic, thermal durability and structural criteria, plus this innovative method adds an extra level of insulation and prevents condensation from forming.

Tape and jointing

Once the plasterboards are in place, we use the tape and jointing technique to create a genuinely flawless finish. Tape and jointing is when we cover and reinforce the seams between the sheets of plasterboard on a wall or ceiling. The tape is embedded in jointing compounds, sometimes known as mud, to provide strength to the plasterboard joints. This achieves a seamless appearance and prevents cracks from appearing later down the line.

Once everything has properly dried, we sand down the jointing compound. The result is perfectly smooth walls and ceilings that are ready to be painted right away, which is significantly faster and far less messy than using the wet plastering method.

Painting and decorating

Over the years we’ve firmly established ourselves as a trusted painting contractor across the UK’s custodial infrastructure. Working closely with the Ministry of Justice and multiple detention providers, we’ve delivered premium painting and decorating for a very affordable price.

To top it all off, when you choose Intertech Contracts, you’re also investing in an environmentally responsible contractor. We’ve built a strong working relationship with Dulux and Crown Paints and supported the development of their VOC 2010 compliant ranges. These paints are specifically developed to be kind to the planet without compromising on the end result.

We’re experienced project managers

Hiring a painting contractor to work at your custodial site or detention facility requires confidence, confidentiality and reassurance. After all, having outsiders on the premises can prove risky if the contractor isn’t familiar with the wide range of procedures that keep your facility safe, secure and compliant.

That’s why we also offer a comprehensive project management service that involves our management team monitoring progress, quality and performance from start to finish. As well as making sure that everything is delivered to the highest standard on time and within budget, you also gain the peace of mind that every member of staff at Intertech Contracts works to the stringent regulations of the following memberships, qualifications and accreditations:
