Job Summary: 

We are looking for a driven, personable, outgoing and hardworking Assistant Contracts Manager to join our growing team. 

As a key member of the team, you will ensure the highest health and safety standards in day-to-day activities are upheld. You will have full oversight of a project or multiple projects, ensuring all operational aspects and requirements are managed and reported effectively to ensure projects are running effectively and in line with the company’s strategy. 

You will oversee labour and production on multiple projects. Have a responsibility for maintaining client relationships and providing support to the Contracts Managers and wider team. Provide the drive and focus throughout project life cycles, promoting best practices and company policies at each stage. 

Other responsibilities include: 

• Ensuring high levels of transparency throughout the project to support a no-surprise approach internally or to external clients. 
• Ensure that timeframe targets and budgets are successfully achieved. 
• Work alongside the commercial and contracts teams to negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements. 
• Assist in determining resource requirements (staffing, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
• Plan construction operations and schedule intermediate phases with the operations team to ensure deadlines are met. 
• Ensure the highest health and safety standards are maintained at all times. 
• Manage a team of sub-contractors working on projects.

• Excellent people management skills with a track record of developing and maintaining excellent working relationships and building trust with all levels of the team internally and externally. 
• An analytical nature, passion for problem-solving and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with others to achieve shared outcomes and objectives.
• Highly competent in production planning and control.
• Ability to multitask as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to review and improve processes and procedures, looking for innovative and creative solutions. 
• Experience in joinery aspects and modular build is preferred.
